Okey: The Classic Childhood Board Game Now Online

Playing Okey Online

Okey is an exciting tile-based free online game that involves strategy. The game has 80 tiles and four jokers. The tiles come in four colors, blue, yellow, green, and red, and are numbered from 1 to 10. Each color appears twice, and each tile is worth the number of points shown on it, except the joker, which is worth 50 points and can replace any tile. The objective of the game is to clear your board by placing all your tiles on the table.

How to play Okey

Okay board game

The game play and game rules are similar to the popular game, Rummikub. Players familiar with this game will feel right at home playing Okey. To start the game, each player gets 14 tiles that are only visible to them, and the remaining tiles are placed face down in a pile on the table. The first move requires a player to place a combination of tiles called a series on the table with a minimum sum of 20 points. There are two types of series: groups and rows.

Groups are made up of three or four tiles with the same number in different colors. Rows are at least three tiles with consecutive numbers in the same color. The tiles with the number 1 may be placed in a row after the number 10. Once a player has made their first move, they can place tiles with any number of points on the table.

If a player does not have any valid series that add up to 20 points, they are unable to make their first move and must pick up a tile from the pile. After picking up a tile, the turn is over. Once you have made first move, you can place tiles with any number of points on the table. This can be done either by placing new series (i.e. groups or rows), or by manipulating or adding to series placed by others.

Manipulating means changing a series that is already on the table. To create a series with the tiles on your board, you may add to and remove from existing series on the table, but only as long as all tiles are sorted series of three tiles or more. You can remove a Joker from an existing series by replacing it with a suitable tile from your board, but you must use it in the same turn. If a manipulation is not successful, the move is reversed, and the player receives an extra tile as a penalty.

Okay play online

The game ends when a player gets rid of all their tiles on their board. If there are no possible moves by the time all tiles have been picked up from the pile, the remaining tiles on the boards are added together, and the winner is the player with the least points. There is a time limit of 50 seconds per turn, and if the time limit is exceeded, all tiles that were moved or placed during the turn will be returned to their initial positions, and the player receives one penalty tile.

After a round, each losing player must add the points of their remaining tiles, and the Joker is worth 50 points. The player who places all their tiles and wins receives 0 points. The game is an excellent way to spend time with family and friends, and it challenges players' logical thinking and decision-making skills.
